Hunter`s Hot Pot



  • A very tasty broth!

    Hunter's Hot Pot
    Water
    2 teaspoons salt
    1/8 teaspoon pepper
    1 large potato
    1 medium turnip
    2 medium carrots
    1 medium green pepper
    1 medium stalk celery
    1 small onion
    1 bay leaf
    Cut the potato into 1.5 inch pieces, the turnip, carrots, pepper, onion and celery, into 1 inch pieces. Boil water in a pot and add all ingredients, Boil uncovered until vegetables are tender (about 30 minutes). Let cool. Serves 5-6.



  • Can this use any kind of pepper, or is there a specific one that you suggest?



  • Pepper, well, I guess its an optional thing and you can use any type, but I just use grindy pepper that we get from the supermarket in NZ. Its not spicy.

    Also, I made the recipe again, and this time I secretly added a few shakes of nutmeg. No one knew, but me. Apparently the broth tasted better! So try that if you want.
