Description: Female Dingo, light brown fur. Wears a white shirt and brown vest over a green kilt.

Personality: Duskbiter does the hard work of actually managing the horde. Practical-minded and organized, she disapproves of most of the rowdier generals. She isn't easy to impress, as she tends to be overly critical of anyone who isn't Chisk. There are only a select few, like Swiftpaw, that she considers reliable. She is easily cowed by beasts that are large and intimidating, like Siltscale. Most of the horde dislike her, since she is always criticizing or rebuking people for not reaching her high expectations, though she means well and just wants to encourage others to work hard and take things seriously. The rumor whispered among the soldiers is that she and Chisk are really close, which explains why a meddling busybody like her was appointed to such a high rank.
Background: She and Chisk knew each other since childhood. Duskbiter grew up on a farm, and her parents were simple agrarians who lived peacefully. She learned how to use a crossbow, in order to defend the farm from occasional bandits. After a passing horde killed her parents and torched the farm, she started traveling with Chisk. At first, when Chisk revealed her ambition to become a warlord, Duskbiter was furious, since a warlord was responsible for the tragedy that happened to her. However, she warmed up to the idea when Chisk promised to destroy the clans responsible for the attack.
Although she wishes Chisk had less dangerous ambitions, she is determined to ensure that Chisk doesn't take on more than she can manage. She learned how to fight better so she can protect Chisk if necessary (although she knows Chisk probably doesn't need protection).
She affectionately calls Chisk "Chisky" out of habit, but Chisk insists on hiding their relationship from the rest of the horde.
Strengths: She has decent aim with the crossbow, but not great. While she's not a genius, she is diligent and organized enough to manage the horde well.
Weaknesses: She is not good at close combat, and is easily bullied by stronger beasts. She is widely disliked, and has few positive relationships with others.
Name: Inventor-General Iretooth
Nickname: Toothy (only by Chisk)
Description: Female quoll, reddish brown fur with pointed ears. Tall and lithe, very pretty. Wears goggles and brown longcoat, which she leaves open.
Possessions: A dart launcher, strapped to her arm.
Personality: Conceited and vain, takes every opportunity to brag about her ingenuity or beauty, or insult others. She refrains from insulting Chisk though, since otherwise she'd be out of a job. Still, it's too much to expect her to be nice to more than one person. Despite her brazen attitude, she is a coward who immediately folds when anyone confronts her.
Strengths: Intelligent, able to design and build useful devices.
Weaknesses: Cannot fight at all, because she believes someone as talented as herself shouldn't need to put in the effort. To defend herself she relies on her dart launcher, which does little damage. She is also cowardly, and immediately runs away or surrenders when the situation gets bad.
Name: Infiltrator-General Starpelt
Nickname: Starry (only by Chisk)
Description: Young male quoll, black fur with white spots, short and pudgy with round ears. Wears simple grey tunic.
Possessions: Poisoned dagger, satchel of food
Personality: He is very casual, and rarely takes things seriously. He's almost always eating, and he insists it's because he's going through a growth spurt. He rarely speaks, since it would blow his cover.
Strengths: He is skilled at entering and sneaking around enemy territory, and blending into a crowd. He looks so plain and unremarkable that he is able to escape notice in a crowd even when standing in plain view. His small size and dark fur allow him to easily hide in obvious places.
Weaknesses: Very perceptive beasts (such as Chisk) are able to notice him right away unless he hides out of sight. He has slow reflexes, and gets tired easily, especially if he hasn't eaten for a few hours. His small size makes him physically weak, and he's not very clever. Once noticed, he can at most take down one beast before getting defeated.
Name: General Siltscale
Nickname: Scaley (only by Chisk)
Description: Female goanna, tall with black scales, covered in white bands and jagged scars that blend together. Wears a shoulder pauldron and blue cloak.
Personality: A serious and intelligent general, but prone to argument. She disagrees with many of Chisk's decisions, and isn't afraid to make that clear to all. Very enthusiastic about voicing her disagreement, tends to shout. Everyone is at least a little afraid of her. She's not overly violent though, and is one of the more reasonable generals. She comes from a peaceful settlement of lizards, where she received a good education, and previously worked as a guard. She tries to appear refined, since goannas are often viewed as unintelligent brutes, and has been working on fixing her speech impediment.
Strengths: She huge and strong, and looks terrifying. Her thick hide protects her from severe injury. She's also intelligent, and keeps calm even in the thick of battle.
Weaknesses: She is unaccustomed to fighting with a weapon, and often falls back to clawing and biting without realizing it (it embarrasses her). She is more susceptible to cold than other reptiles, and even the nighttime chill is dangerous to her, so she avoids being active at night. She has an illness that makes her easily exhausted and short of breath, which she tries to hide lest she appears weak.
Litha watched him go with a faint smile flirting around her mouth, then turned and fell into Falmouth's arms. "Home at last, dearest…" She sighed, snuggling into her shoulder.
He chuckled and rubbed her back. "Come inside, Litha-my-love."
Litha nodded and followed him inside, turning to shut the door. She watched Jared out of sight before closing it with a contented sigh. Falmouth had two glasses of wine and a bowl of fruit on a tray, and he stood waiting for her.
"Night falls outside." Litha spoke softly.
"Yes. Even the Earth must have her rest before turning a new page."

Star glanced at the counter, then the TV. She tugged on Ylan's arm.
"I think we should go..." Ylan nodded, and they headed out. Before Star left she called to Tinarandel.
"Have a great day! Thank you for the ice cream!" The two best friends left, and walked fairly quiet down the street. The sounds of sirens echoed from far away.
Meanwhile back at the street corner the ferret continued to take notes before looking over at the hare. "Have any witnesses come forward?" He asked and the hare shook his head. "No sah, although it isn't surprising with all things considered. People already are assuming this is the swordsbeast's handy work." Jay sighed as he shook his head. Of course the media would instantly resort to saying it is that wretched mystery serial killer. At this rate whoever is his killer is going to cause a massive panic in the city and tensions between woodlanders and non woodlanders continues to rise. Not even the stoat mayor would be able to calm things down if it reached that point. "Well constable the signs to match up but we can't let the press know that. They are going to make things worse by blowing it up as much as possible." He said as he got back up and place the rage over the corpse's head. "Damn this is gonna be another long night it seems…"
The Shas'Ui Damos had a look of just horror and looked as if about to voice a very verbal objection, until the elder stayed him back with a paw. A calm look as if to stay his words for now, which the vulpin reluctantly followed his superiors non-verbal order and backing up a bit. The Por'El looked back though with a solemn look and shook his head, "I am very sorry Commander, while it is a very sound and effective plan of attack I must dutifully inform you such action is not possible."
"This information would've been shared soon, but it seems it must be shared sooner." He cleared his throat and then gestured for his Shas'Ui to begin, which the vulpin stepped forward now.
"Well the plan you suggested commander is…vastly different from ours and yet certainly effective, but as the Por'El states we cannot agree to such a plan. Our scouts had made a report before we came and it said the Verja had attacked three outlying villages near the Northern mountains simultaneously. All three were razed to the ground and all the citizens within each have been taken…hostage, the Verja sending word that if any attack comes to their port." He seemed to struggle with the last part as if difficult to say, which the Por'El finished for him.
"They will execute 100 for each navy ship that is spotted near their domain with ill-intentions."
Within the compartment it seemed to hold what looked like something wrapped in cloth and some scattered papers. The papers seemed to be pieces of old war propaganda for both the major powers, The Alliance and Axis, that held sway two decades ago. These powers lost much of their influence but still held some form of power diminished as it may be in current times.
Mayhaps someone working in the tavern had been one of the minority that advocated for the war to stop back then, before the Argonne Disaster put an end to it dramatically. A battalion made up of defected soldiers from both sides held a last stand on a well-fortified port, until the massive stores of Suspendium within the port combusted. An explosion so large it engulfed the island Argonne rested and chunks of both air-fleets who unluckily were nearby.
Inside the warehouse seemed to be a storm had just come through, much of the crates and items within had either split open or were in broken heaps. Much of it seems to be of little use if even one looked hard and yet...a small light could be seen near the back that seemed to flicker behind the heaps. Perhaps a survivor did indeed exist, or a lantern that seemed to be still lit?

The debate between establishing more firm connections with the Beastfolk seemed to be reaching an end soon as word is heard of the High King reaching a decision. A debate that lasted for so long seemed to finally be coming to an end soon as the arguments between the Jarls seemed to be dying down as the High King arrived to announce his answer. With total silence permeating through the room and with a deep toned speech, agrees to more trade routes between Norsca and the Confederation. Though he denied their request of establishing an embassy saying such a request must be earned and Norsca will only secure direct routes to the Confederation, those other routes of the Confederation the Beastfolk must secure themselves. The High King gave overview of the venture to Jarl Brina Merilis of Dawnstar Hold as her responsibility and gave orders for Elsif Stuhn to prepare expeditions to Yulsol for plans of expansion southward.
Sorli, Exalted of the Eagle Aspect, received word from the capital in regards to her and Elsif's orders from the High King. Quickly she ordered the patrolling Stormcloak ships to come back closer to Norscan waters as work began going underway. Within Winter Hold dock workers, sailors, and like began work on converting longships currently docked their for voyages to Yulsol's northern tip. Renewed construction began of larger longships to come after initial expeditions arrived during the summer and established a foothold for more to come during the winter.
The Jarl and Exalted of Hjerim Hold began to tolerate and, in some sense, respect the Winterblades from learning more of their culture and faith. Small trades done between the two grew slightly as more of the Wildar tribe is learned about and finding common ground between the two.

The building of the invasion fleet had not gone as well as planned, as Nafia was still in economic turmoil over their siege. Much of the work had been thus passed onto the crown to foot the bill AND make the ships, something which the emperor was not fully prepared for. Ship building was expensive, and often it was easier to approach Olbar for ships rather then to build it themselves. Olbar's shipyards were a valued asset for naval supplies, but being at war with them has made that trade vanish. The hiring of workers to cut the trees, build the ships, and load them with proper supplies was infuriating to the lesser nobles charged with it.
What had frightened the emperor most was how silent Olbar had become, one of the few times he had actually worried. Olbar was infamous for it's raiding, and there were several good reasons as to not invade them outright. By the time 8 ships out of hundreds was complete, several large hosts from Nafia, Palmori, and Ferma. The Mayfly Knight and his retinue was invited to the imperial palace for his stay, in which the knight expressed concern over the work orders. He suggested getting ships from other nations, or granting a Imperial Boon to him for building ships. The empress publically called out the archduke for suggesting this, as he had very little experience, if any, in ship building. However, the emperor did agree to grant the boon in order to speed up the process of ship building, and granted the armies some small lands near the capital to stay the winter. They planned to invade Olbar in the summer and build the ships in the winter.
Marino 'The Mayfly' Dontai decided to grant his boon to several guilds in Ulmar to gather ships rather then build them, buying ships from neighborin kingdoms for the price of good trade agreements. Representatives from neighboring nations did agree to sell fishing boats, transports, and cargo boats to the Reformed Imperium, but others demanded far more then what could be given. Some however took the information about this upcoming war to their liege lords, who in turn began to aggressively plot against the Reformed Imperium. The Yulizmad Sultanate, a major rival of the Imperium, began to mass it's vast slave armies and other troops at Nafia's borders. When several Yulizmad merchants and 'visitors' entered the city, it had become clear they were waiting for the Imperium armies to be away in order to make their next move.
Not everyone had caught onto this, all except the Salvays. The Empress, Lisa Salvay, had sent several of her knights to investigate the merchants. The Knights misinterrupted this as to break their shops and force their confession, but they did discover them as spies. The screams of these 'merchants' lasted for days underneath the imperial golden palace of Ulmar, where the Arch Duke of Nafia paced in deep concern and thought. The Arch Duke had a idea, but it was risky. The Palemorium had 'technical' control over a religious crusade order which took land in the deeper deserts, fighting a old enemy. The Arch Duke expended favors and spies to gain a hold of a Palemorium seal, which he fabricated a letter to the order's grandmaster, ordering him to invade the Yulizmad Sultanate.
Within a week of his fabricated letter sent, the Palemorium and much of the Imperium was shocked to hear of a sudden outbreak of war against the Yulizmad Caliphate. With much of their armies looking at Nafia, a number of northern Yulizmad cities had fallen and were purged by the crusading force. The Arch Duke pondered his actions as he listened to courtiers explain the Battle of Zaziblonar, where 8,000 light cavalry surrounded the 22,000 slave soldiers of the Yulizmads, cutting them down while Reformist Heavy Knights cut through the middle, leading the butchery of the near by town were angry crusading forces burned the town and killed everyone in it. As the two nations fought viciously, the invasion for Olbar was saved.
I found a pretty neat map maker, so this makes my job 250% easier and you no longer have to look (mostly) at my horrible paint drawings.
I've added several nations around our own and I'll get some rules up on NPC nations eventually in the codex.
In a short summary of that idea, NPC nations have their own lore and will be controlled by me, but if you want control over some, that is fine (make sure to get the okay from me beforehand). Generally, if you do take over a NPC nation, i expect you not to power play them.

The Drakani commander scoffed at the knight's words perhaps he is more of a guard then a diplomat with such a mouth. Smiling Unchan responds. "Burn Villages? Yes actually. In fact if you look into our history such a infamous event can be considered what ignited the fires of revolution sire. It is now history as the Ferdia Incident It was originally a harmless protest in the name of a Drakani family when officials who stepped out of line decided to burn down the family's tobacco plantation killing their child in the fire. In the end because apparently demanding justice when guards decide to disobey orders and causes a child's death results in people getting gunned down in the streets. But regardless this is mere history and as for our intelligence sir. Please don't humble us, it is widely known Isurmo is home of some of the greatest innovators the world has seen. Look at us while some nations still rely on charging into battle with only swords and shields, we have weapons such as the cannon and the Isurmi Rifle. Perhaps some of our literature has even reached your home through over the years of trading with many nations and even we have a mages college in the city of Xilonquil on the western coast." He said as they reached the Parliament and went up the stairs and reached large double rosewood doors. And he turned around. "Now then The Prime Minister is inside and is expecting you all. Granted if there is anyone here who doesn't feel fit to conduct the meeting due to fatigue and whatnot please Let me know now and I will have a guard escort you to your hotel rooms or even your ship if you so desire." He said with a friendly smile before casting a side glance at the so called Mayfly Knight. The Commander new for a fact that if there was anyone in this group that might be of concern it was this knight who's mouth and brash actions could cause international incident. Because of this the Drakani decided that it will be best to place himself between Prime Minister Kiloc and this Orange Knight.

A several blasted months of searching for the elusive resistance group had started to unnerve the group as tempers came close to flaring between some of the rude locals for a time. But at this point seeing the acts of slave revolts started to make the small group worry until Arian managed to spot figures moving to and from a abandoned tower. The Sea Ratik decided to relay the information to the group and they decided it was time investigate. Hidden away in some destroyed and long abandoned buildings the trio conducted a stakeout for several weeks mapping out and tracking the movement until they finally began to map out the patterns of the movement. They determined that if there was any group secretly meeting there it would be the Dragonflies.
Now They prepared and made sure their pistols was prepared in case either as a deterrent from a hostile slaves until they can explain or if they need to bluff their way out of guards who could also possible be searching the group as well. regardless they watched from their hiding spot until they saw nobody entering the ruins. The group began their approach. The group can smell the scent of rotting bodies Regardless that didn't stop their approach. Quinn and Glock decided to remain at the top of the stairs leading to the entrance as they kept watch and just in case they needed to try and help Arian from attackers. The Sea Ratik started to walk down the stairs approaching the door hand on that flintlock pistol strapped to his side and he reached out and began to knock on the door.

The less dice needed the better usually from what I can tell. Though that would work more for having small armies in comparison to big ones and since this might be a first time thing to do with others….maybe small armies would be best.
Kingdom of Urthol
Ruling Family - Whitelight (Siur)
Urthol is the oldest and longest surviving kingdom, which dates back to the first founding. Made up mostly of Siur and minor servants, it is based in the mountains and plateaus. Urthol is a odd place, as each city and town often goes 'up' towards high farms. The stone stairs and stone roads were built by imperial men long ago. Urthol's many keeps, walls, and buildings are made entirely of stone, with the highest city having the highest walls and most impressive keep. Urthol has been ruled by the Whitelights, a very strict family but also noble and humble one.
Bolch Kingdom of Rivis
Ruling Family - Shadowtree (Otur)
Rivis is a northern Otur kingdom which is a bastion for Shadow Worship thanks to the Shadowtree Holt. The Otur have always been cautious and secretive, and thus live in what are known as Holts, large underground bunkers which hold a familial clan which separates when it becomes to large. A Bolch Kingdom is a united group of bolches for the singular purpose of survival and unity, but this unity was shattered during the Shadowtree wars. The Shadowtrees are a reclusive and magical family, holding a ice enchanted blade known as The Glacial Blade which is passed between king to king.
Kingdom of Ravalis
Ruling Family - Gumis (Ravar)
Ravalis is based in the former city of the Iron Port, a imperial city which was lost when humanity was pushed out of the Beast Isle. Ravalis adopted similar imperial customs and was made up mostly of Ravar and Dor'Mould whom at one point had once been slave laborers (and later commoners) to the imperial port. Ravalis is very closely allied, perhaps even subservient, to Urthol. Ravalis is ruled by the overly cheerful and also extremely skilled Gumis family, a family whom has made it's own private army. Ravalis is the richest country on the beast isle.
Kingdom of Trestop
Ruling Family - Leaftreader (Trecal)
Trestop, or Trelopili, is a Trecal kingdom which has a number of minor Higvar lords and Skul clans. Trestop is a very heavily forested kingdom and also a very isolated one. Trestop has the weakest army and the least developed land due to inland cities and clans. Trestop is known for it's large treetop cities and massive groves, and also remains a religious center on the island. Trestop is ruled by the Leaftreaders, a Trecal family which has a history of zealotry and being skilled in archery.
Jarldom of Wulgis
Ruling Family - Bluesky (Wulf)
Wulgis is a older kingdom which has been felled by civil war, invasions, and counter-invasions many times. Wulgis is a hilly land with plenty of quarries and fields in it's north-east portion of the island. Wulgis is ruled by the Wulf, whom suffer from vicious political and religious struggles only held together by Wulf codes of honor and family. The entire land is made up of wooden circle mound forts ruled by high lords. It is ruled by the Bluesky family, a strict and close family. The Bluesky hold a ancient short sword called Hill Guard, a family weapon.
High Keep is the highest point on Mount Tremois, the mountain in the middle of Tremol. High Keep is a very high castle with high walls, built expertly as a great home for it's Siur lords. High Keep has never been invaded, and is considered the safest place in Tremol. High Keep was made to be self-sustain community, with dedicated caverns to food and mining. However, High Keep is no less a city as it is a fortress and home of the Urthol nobles.
North Stone is a Otur city built on a large hill which overlooks the sea. North Stone is a rather moderately sized city for the Beast Isle, but it is a important one due to being a major Shadow Worshipper city. North Stone has very close-knit buildings. It is the capital and a home for the Otur.
Once called the Iron Port for the number of slaves and the amount of iron brought out of it, the Velvet Port is a home of the Ravar and a number of other races. It is the richest port on Tremol and the largest city. The Velvet Port is a well defended, and also has a sizable fleet stationed in it's bay. The Velvet Bay is very important to the island's control.
Wulganis is a Wulf castle and capital of Wulgis. Wulganis is well defended and inland and holds the infamous Crpyt of Tears, a large burial crypt of a former royal dynasty which were brutalized to death by invading Boas long ago.
High Roost is the capital of Trestop, a large city above the trees and a defendable fortress below.
Black Armor Clannate
The Black Armor Clannate is a Wildar tribe which holds a Heryg status on the island, living in Rivis. The Black Armor warriors are staunch loyalists of the Shadowtree Holt, holding dominion over a sizable territory there. The clan is made up of a number of powerful warriors and generally follows the rules. Their influence on the island is also questionably large, as the Heryg can typically hold powerful meetings and have had more then once forced the hand of it's kings. The Black Armor clan holds a magical armor set of metal armor called the Black Armor, a necromatic black-painted armor which is invulnerable but sickens it's user.
The Horned Holt
The Horned Holt is a reclusive Otur Holt in Rivis, a less then loved Heryg which lives in a useless marsh near the borders of the land itself. The Horned Holt use to a savage shadow worshipping Holt which use to be in the thrall of a Wildar clan, having practiced cannibalism and tribal rites. Ultra aggressive and thought to inbreed occasionally, the Horned Holt are terrifying in combat and highly skilled warriors. The warriors, as a Heryg, are only loosely connected to the Rivis Otur and wear ram or stag horns on their helms.
The Black Flag Warriors
The Black Flag warriors are a hostile group of bandits whom live all around the island. These bandits are unified Beastfolk smugglers, rogues, mercenaries, and vagabonds whom pester the local clans for coin and food. Universally despised, they make a majority of the money through kidnapping and selling captives as slaves to pirates. They bear black flags and often have very vague goals, often seeking to earn quick money. Creatures join them to escape poverty or as a lazy excuse to become comfortable in life.
Aethen Whitelight is the King of Urthol. He is a strict and elder Siur and well advanced in years.
Andian is a older Otur and was educated as a Necromancer in his youth. Now a lord of the Shadowtree Kingdom, Andian is dedicated to his gods more so then his family.
Sargis is a leader of the Horned Holt, a vicious and ambitious Otur whom loves his young son whom he holds deeply. Vicious, he is a hostile element against the Black Flag warriors.
A young but noble Wulf Jarl, whom holds a personal grudge against Boas sea raiders whom killed his young brother in a raid. Ceibor is a Oathkeeper, and a legendary swordsmen.
